Chinese brands occupy 66% of smartphone market in India

China’s occupation of Indian smartphone market is increasing. Chinese companies making smartphones have increased their dominance in the Indian market in the first quarter of 2019. Counterpoint Research has revealed that there are 4 Chinese brands in the Top 5 smartphone companies in India. China’s mobile companies have seized 66 per cent market share in the last quarter. China’s mobile company Shaomi ( Xiaomi ) has a market share of 29% in the smartphone market in India . In case of market share, Shamoi is on top. This figure is the first quarter of 2019. In the first quarter of 2018, Shawmy’s market share was 31 percent.

Vivo’s share of fastest growing
According to Counterpoint Research, the market share of Chinese company Vivo has risen sharply in India’s smartphone market. Vivo’s share has increased to 12% in the first quarter of 2019, which was just 6% in the first quarter of 2018. Chinese company Riylmi ( Realme has) also acquired a 7 percent market share in the highly competitive market of India. At the same time, in the first quarter of 2019, Oppo ‘s market share also increased from 6 to 7 percent.

Samsung’s position improved in feature phone market
South Korean company Samsung’s market share in India’s smartphone market is 23 percent in the first quarter of 2019. In the first quarter of 2018, Samsung’s market share was 26 percent. However, Samsung’s market share in the feature phone market has increased from 10 percent to 15 percent. In the first quarter of 2019, Reliance Jio has the highest share of the feature phone market at 30 percent. In the feature phone market, the market share of domestic company Lava rose from 6% to 13%. At the same time, Nokia’s market share in the feature phone market increased from 7 to 8 percent.
